Our department recently received a speed enforcement trailer through the Safe Routes to Schools grant.
The trailer will be used as part of our educational/enforcement approach to traffic safety. The trailer will be deployed in various areas of the city where we know that we have chronic speeding issues.
The trailer can also be deployed in areas that we have received complaints of speeding in. The trailer has a built-in traffic analysis program that will provide data to us as to the volume of traffic, speeds, dates, times, etc. This information can give us a better picture as to whether or not we actually have a speeding issue in certain areas.
Our staff is currently learning how to use this piece of equipment. We hope to start deploying it in the next few weeks.
