Landscape Recycling Center - N3642 River Road, Columbus WI 53925

The City of Columbus Landscape Recycling Center is available for City of Columbus residents during seasonal hours of operation, April through November, Monday and Wednesday's 1:00 pm - 6:00 pm, Saturday 8:00 am - 3:00 pm. 

Current year sticker with assigned number is required on your LRC tag. Can be picked up at DPW during normal business hours.

RESIDENTS:
Residents can obtain a required rear-view hanger at our Public Works Department at 229 E. School Street, Monday - Friday, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm, along with proof of residency (Drivers License, addressed Utilities or Tax Bill). ($25 fee for Town of Elba Residents) Residents will need to obtain a current year sticker with an assigned number annually. Residents must show rear-view hanger to the attendant to enter the Landscape Recycling Center. 

CONTRACTORS:
Contractors can obtain a required rear-view hanger at our Public Works Department at 229 E. School Street, Monday - Friday, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm, along with proof of Business Contact Information and Drivers License, along with a $25 fee. Contractors will need to obtain a current year sticker with an assigned number annually. 

Contractors performing contracted work for City of Columbus residents must provide a “Consent To Use” form for each job. Form must be completed by the City of Columbus resident and/or property owner they are performing the work for. All information MUST be filled in for follow-up verification. If the form is not filled in completely access will be denied. No combined loads. Contractors that live in the City of Columbus and do not provide a consent form will be limited to 3 cubic yards of approved material per week. Contractors performing work outside the city limits are restricted from using the Columbus Landscape Recycling Center. Contractors must show rear-view hanger to the attendant to enter the Landscape Recycling Center.

Acceptable Items:

  • yard items - leaves, grass clippings, brush, yard waste (free of plastic bags and rocks)
  • used motor oil - Please do not leave your oil containers.
  • scrap metal, bicycles, washers, dryers, stoves,
  • range tops, water heaters, dishwashers, and
  • other small miscellaneous metals.
  • Vehicle batteries
  • Cardboard


Items NOT Accepted:

  • landscaping fabric
  • rocks
  • railroad ties
  • construction material
  • cooking oil
  • wood chips or barrels
  • dehumidifiers, refrigerators, water coolers, air conditioners, microwaves, freezers, (freon appliances)
