Parking is not allowed on any public street or alley in the city at any time after the accumulation of 2 inches or more of snow, until the street has been completely plowed from curb to curb.

For parking lots owned by the city, beginning at 12:00 midnight November 30 through 12:00 midnight March 31 each year, alternate side parking rules shall apply.

Please refer to city ordinance Section 98-79 (a-b) for more information.

Sidewalk Snow & Ice Removal Regulation

The owner, occupant, person in charge of any residence, building or lot in the City abutting any street right-of-way containing a sidewalk shall clear the sidewalk of snow and ice to the width of the sidewalk within 24 hours after the stop of a snowfall. The sidewalk shall be kept clear of snow and ice. If it’s found that a sidewalk has not been shoveled/cleared, the public works director shall give written notice to the property owner, occupant, or person in charge requiring the sidewalk to be cleared within 24 hours of the written notice. Failure to remove the snow and ice will result in the City removing the snow/ice and billing the costs back to the property owner.

The Public Works Department does not provide free salt or sand to the public.
