[ARCHIVED] 2016 City Street Project - August 4th Update

Here is your weekly update on the 2016 Street Project, for August 4th:

A Note – information on the upcoming activities with the project are subject to change due to weather or other factors that unexpectedly arise. This report is to give you a sense of what is planned for the near future for each part of the project, as adjustments sometime need to be made to address emergencies or for efficiency reasons.

Mill Street and Birdsey Street: Water main and lateral work is moving along and may be completed by the end of this week, with further construction of the street base continuing toward Dickason Boulevard. Note: CONCRETE WORK – (curb & gutter, sidewalks and driveway aprons) is currently being planned for the week of August 15th (this could change) – and different areas of these streets will begin at different times. When the work begins you will have restricted access to your driveways for as much as two weeks or so to allow for the concrete to cure. This timeframe will also be dependent upon conditions. A notice to be distributed to you with further details is being prepared to tell you when the access restrictions are in place and the work will begin.

Charles Street: Restoration continues to be monitored over the upcoming weeks. Rain and other activities has caused some further issues there that needed addressing.

W. Prairie Street: Paving has been completed. The restoration work here and in other areas needed to be readdressed.

Church Street: The Street has been re-seeded and hydro-mulched to prevent the seed from being washed away. In some areas, where erosion and drainage are being monitored, the initial landscape has been maintained to control erosion for the time being – these areas will be reviewed and addressed before the project is completed.

As always, all schedules and work plans are dependent on the weather conditions.
