Wisconsin State Statute Chapter 174 and Section No. 14-61(a) of the City Code states the owner of a dog more than 5 months of age on January 1 of any year, or 5 months of age within the license year, shall pay the dog license fee and obtain a license.
When purchasing dog license(s), you will need the following:
- Your name, address, phone number, email address and the name(s) or your dog(s).
- Rabies certificate for each dog. Dogs must vaccinated within 30 days after the dog reaches 4 months of age.
- Evidence of neutering or spaying, if not indicated on the rabies certificate.
- Cash -OR- check made payable to the City of Columbus
Fees for licensing are $15.00 for each intact dog or $10.00 each for a spayed / neutered dog.
We encourage residents to pay for their dog license(s) by April 1st, 2022 in order to avoid a late fee of $5.00 per dog. Owners may purchase a replacement tag for only $1.00.
